On Tuesday Ocean Beauty Seafoods announced that their Echo Falls brand has launched three new smoked salmon products: Applewood Smoked Sockeye Salmon Candy, Beechwood Smoked Norwegian Atlantic Salmon, and Whisky Cask Smoked Atlantic Salmon. “We’re constantly on the lookout for new, innovative flavors and methods of preparation that give our customers unique, delicious flavors from top seafood regions,” Ron Christianson, Ocean Beauty’s VP of Domestic Sales & Marketing, said in a press release. “These new products demonstrate that we will never stop creating great seafood and smoked salmon products.” The new products in the Echo Falls line are certainly unique. The Applewood Smoked Sockeye Salmon Candy is made with wild-caught salmon from Bristol Bay, Alaska, that is certified sustainable. The salmon is cut into strips, cured in brown sugar and salt, and then slowly smoked with Applewood. According to Ocean Beauty, 50% of wholesale profits from the product are invested back into the Bristol Bay community. Meanwhile, the Beechwood Smoked Norwegian Salmon is dry cured using only salt, before being slowly smoked with native beechwood. The Whisky Cask Smoked Scottish Atlantic Salmon is dry cured and smoked in Scotland over whisky casks from The Macallan distillery. The new products also feature Echo Falls brand’s new packaging, which features a “cleaner and bolder design, a look that Christianson says will attract customer attention and “stimulate trial.” You can find the new smoked salmon products in grocery stores nationwide. https://www.seafoodnews.com/Story/1129171/Ocean-Beautys-Echo-Falls-Brand-Launches-3-New-Smoked-Salmon-Products Health message key to future salmon sales Fish Site by Rob Fletcher - January 16, 2019 Salmon sellers must market their products as being “the leading healthy and sustainable protein and move away from being a ‘luxury’ product” if they want to continue to achieve high prices. https://thefishsite.com/articles/health-message-key-to-salmon-sales
