The Alaska Legislature is working on the state’s budget which begins on July 1. No surprise that there are a lot of cuts planned. One thing on the chopping block is state funded PSP tests for commercial shellfish. Shellfish farmers and divers fear they will be put out of business if they are forced to pay for testing. We look at the costs of keeping up with the testing requirements.
