Hearing set, public comments sought on Board of Fisheries appointees
KTUU by Grant Robinson - July 10, 2020
When Gov. Mike Dunleavy announced his appointees of the Alaska Board of Fisheries in April, his choice of a current Pebble Partnership employ alarmed some fishermen, and the legislature ended session before hearings were held on the appointees.

Last-minute deal will keep some Ravn planes and service in Alaska
KTOO by Nat Herz - July 10, 2020
A last-minute deal has emerged to keep RavnAir Group’s core assets in Alaska.
After a failed bankruptcy auction Wednesday, Ravn’s big planes appeared on track to be flown to California and sold off in a liquidation process, to the disappointment of Alaskans who depended on Ravn’s regional service.

OPINION: Amid pandemic, Alaska's fishing boats are weathering an unprecedented storm
Bristol Bay Times by Tyson Fick - July 9, 2020
No one reading this needs to be reminded that we are in uncharted waters as thousands of Alaska fishermen set out to sea for the salmon season. As a fisherman with two young boys, I felt a deep sense of both privilege and responsibility as I set my nets in the glacier-fed waters of Taku Inlet in late June.

Opinion: Pebble should post $50 billion bond for future damages or end its project
Anchorage Daily News by Dan Strickland - July 9, 2020
I have a strategy that I believe would benefit Mr. Tom Collier and the Pebble Partnership in their struggle to permit and establish the Pebble Mine in Bristol Bay. The roiling argument is whether or not an open-pit mine can coexist with the biggest wild salmon run on earth. To date, no open-pit mines have accomplished operations which are not guilty of environmental destruction and pollution, to either a small or a catastrophic degree. Pebble backers continue to reassure us that they can do it, and are firmly committed to doing so.
