FYI’s Bristol Bay Group Taps Lilani Dunn to Lead Salmon Marketing Program by Peggy Parker - March 3, 2020 BRISTOL BAY, AK – The Bristol Bay Regional Seafood Development Association (BBRSDA) announced the hiring Lilani Dunn, former head of marketing at Orca Bay Seafoods, as marketing director for the groups core mission of promoting Bristol Bay sockeye. “Lilani has a built a strong seafood marketing resume, and a reputation as an innovator and leader with a great work ethic,” said Andy Wink, BBRSDA’s executive director. “We’ve long enjoyed working with Lilani as an industry colleague, and we’re excited to bring her on as part of our team.” Dunn has extensive experience with Alaska seafood, working in marketing and promotions at Orca Bay Seafoods and Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI), where she still serves as vice chair of the Domestica Marketing Committee. “Having worked in seafood for years, I understand the challenges and nuances of our industry, and I know how to grow a brand and reach new customers,” Dunn said. “I am very excited to represent the Bristol Bay sockeye fishery alongside the talented team of BBRSDA. It’s an excellent product with an amazing story and I can’t wait to help tell the world about it.” Dunn joined Orca Bay Seafoods in 2015 and was part of the team that boosted the brand to be named among the top 20 seafood brands in 2016. Her roles there included leading Orca Bay’s foodservice, retail, and direct sales marketing efforts as well as the firm’s public relations and philanthropic efforts. Prior to Orca Bay, Dunn worked for the retail and foodservice marketing programs at ASMI. Dunn also currently sits on the board of the Northwest Fisheries Association. Dunn will serve in her new role from Seattle, where she lives with her husband and child. The Bristol Bay Regional Seafood Development Association is a fishermen-funded group with a mission to increase the value of the Bristol Bay fishery through education, quality outreach, and marketing.
