US seafood producers seek ‘broad investigation’ of unfair seafood trade

A joint request from 23 U.S. fishing, seafood and community groups is asking United States Trade Representative Ambassador Jamieson Greer “to launch a broad investigation into unfair seafood trade practices,” including dumping, subsidies, environmental damage, false product labeling and use of banned veterinary drugs.

Fisheries of the Exclusive Economic Zone Off Alaska; Pacific Cod by Vessels Using Jig Gear in the Central Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska

A Rule by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration on 05/29/2026

NMFS is prohibiting directed fishing for Pacific cod by vessels using jig gear in the Central Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska (GOA). This action is necessary to prevent exceeding the A season allowance of the 2026 total allowable catch (TAC) of Pacific cod allocated to vessels using jig gear in the Central Regulatory Area of the GOA.
