ASMI Showcases Wild Alaska Seafood at SproutsCon in Nashville

The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) recently brought wild Alaska seafood to the floor at Sprouts Farmers Market’s annual convention, SproutsCon, in Nashville, Tennessee.
The event brings together key players from across the Sprouts organization, including store and department managers, corporate leadership, and vendor partners. Along with a vendor showcase, SproutsCon gives attendees a chance to take part in training, networking and education sessions while gaining insight into company priorities for the year ahead.
For ASMI, the convention offered a valuable opportunity to connect directly with the retail teams that influence how customers discover and purchase seafood. Sharing booth space with the Bristol Bay Regional Seafood Development Association (BBRSDA), ASMI spotlighted the quality, sustainability and versatility of wild Alaska seafood through product sampling, conversation and hands-on engagement with Sprouts team members.
The joint presence also helped deepen retailer familiarity with the people, places and fisheries behind the products they bring to the seafood case. That kind of direct interaction can be especially valuable in helping store and department leaders better understand the sourcing story behind wild Alaska offerings.
According to ASMI, response from Sprouts attendees was strong, creating meaningful opportunities to discuss what sets wild Alaska seafood apart—from its roots in well-managed fisheries to the broad range of species, product forms and menu or meal applications it offers.
ASMI’s participation also reflects its ongoing relationship with Sprouts Farmers Market. That partnership included hosting members of the Sprouts seafood team in Alaska in 2025 for a retail familiarization trip, where participants got a firsthand look at the state’s seafood industry, processing operations, fisheries and sustainability practices.
For suppliers and retailers alike, those in-person touchpoints continue to play an important role in building product knowledge, strengthening partnerships and supporting seafood sales at retail.
