The GSSI benchmark plays a critical role in seafood certification by extending formal recognition to robust, effective, and credible seafood certification programs.“Relying on the FAO Guidelines for its underpinnings, the benchmark is a very useful tool for anyone looking for reliable and responsible sources of seafood. By providing transparency to the complicated world of seafood certification, the benchmark facilitates clarity and choice among seafood certification programs,” reads the statement."Partnering with GSSI is a key step in strengthening the integrity of our industry,” said Rich Riggs, Co-Founder of Silver Bay Seafoods.“As we keep improving our sustainable practices, GSSI offers a trusted benchmark that helps guide us and empowers our customers to make informed choices.
